The 5 Wealth Secrets That Made Bill Gates Very Rich And Successful

Bill Gates is one of the richest homo-sapiens on planet earth. And for the past 17 years, the computer software king has been America's richest! How did he make it? This short article x-rays the 5 Wealth Secrets that made Bill very rich and successful; and which you can adopt, adapt or modify to become rich and successful too. Please read on.

1. He Started Early.

Born in 1955, Bill's first contact with the computer was in 1968, at the tender age of 13. At that very young age, he became interested in computer software and programming, and used his school's computer to practice because computers were still very expensive to own. His interest and enthusiasm for programming was uncommon. It was passionate.

2. He Was Passionate And Committed.

Bill was very passionate about computer software and programming. Thus, as a student at Lakeside Prep School, he spent his days and nights designing and writing computer programs. Accordingly, this took a heavy toll on his academic performance, as classes were skipped and homework left undone.

At the Computer Centre Corporation, Bill and his friends crashed the system several times and even sabotaged the security system, all in their passionate quest to acquire new computer skills. But when they hacked into and altered the algorithm that recorded computer usage time, they were promptly banned for several weeks!

3. He Quickly Became His Own Boss.

Bill Gates started his university education at Harvard in 1973, but had to drop out in 1975, to take care of Business. With his friend Paul Allen, he setup Microsoft Corporation in 1975.

Obviously he dropped out of Harvard, not for lack of capacity for higher education, but because his heart was not in his studies. Bill was so committed to his dream that he refused to be distracted even by the allure of formal education at the prestigious Harvard University

4. He Added Great VALUE To The World.

While still at school, Bill and three of his colleagues setup a team called the Lakeside Programmers, on which platform they struck a deal with Computer Centre Corporation. The team reviewed computer programs to identified bugs and other problems. For this they were allowed unlimited computer usage time at the Centre. Hear him: "It was when we got free time at the Computer Centre that we really got into computers..."

Next, the Lakeside Programmers were hired by Information Science Incorporated to create a payroll program. And for this, they again got free computer time plus royalties from sales of the software.

For Traf-O-Data, Bill and his friend Allen created a software that helped measure traffic flow. This earned them about $20,000.

Under Microsoft Corporation, Bill developed the computer operating system software called WINDOWS. Put conservatively, WINDOWS runs in over 60% of all computers on planet earth! Bill gave the world great products and services, for which he was greatly rewarded.

5. He Generously Gave Back To Humanity.

Through his published books, Bill continues to increase the global pool of Knowledge; through his Products and Services, he continues to add Value to our lives; and through the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, he continues to give his Money away to bless and uplift Humanity. What better way to serve God and Man while enjoying yourself? And what else is the purpose of Life, after all?

For sure, Bill Gates will be remembered, not for what he took out of the world for himself, but for what he gave to the world of himself. And for being such a beautiful example and inspiration to Youths, I say: Thank you Bill!

Stay Smart, Wealthy and Wise!

Wealth Secret #8: Purpose Driven:

A man without purpose or purpose driven is like a gigantic ship without a rudder. Permit me to use some sarcastic words; the man is a wanderer, vagabond, an aimless person etc. it means he has no need for himself and does not have value for his existence. A man of such quality should expect nothing in life. Every man should have something that drives him. That THING that drives him is his PURPOSE. Purpose gives you direction in life. It defines how you go, where you should and why you should go. It creates a meaning to life. A purpose driven life makes life meaningful. Every billionaire or millionaire you have heard of is purpose driven. Without that, they couldn’t have achieved such height. Purpose makes you to design the kind of life you want to live. Life is all about what you give to it. It gives you a definite of purpose that means you know exactly what to do and how to do it. It brings you closer to your goals.

You cannot be a wanderer and expect to achieve success. Not possible! You cannot be aimless and expect to hit a predetermined target. You can only aim for something when there is a target. The “aim” is your purpose while the “target” is your goal. Bill Gate has always aim to be the world richest man. Being purpose driven he achieved it. Nothing is impossible to the mind that believes it. Be purpose driven.

Wealth Secret #7: Passion and Determination.

What makes you to go to bed by 2am and wake up by 5am is PASSION. What makes you to keep pushing when others are tired or had given up is DETERMINATION. Passion and Determination are very key principles to getting to the top. Every billionaire or millionaire has it. In fact it’s the basic tool that has taken them to the top. Passion gives you the inner motivation. This means you don’t have to wait for others to motivate you. The motivation comes from inside. When you are passionate about anything, other peoples’ opinion don’t really count especially the negative opinions. What counts is the goal(s) before you. Passion creates drive while determination creates push. Every billionaire you see is passionate about what they do. They have somewhat inner satisfaction from what they do. It’s like elixir! It doesn’t look boring or monotonous while doing. They enjoy doing it.

When you are passionate about what you do and determine doing it, you WILL definitely achieve success. There is nothing like overnight success. No short cut to becoming great. Wake up from your slumber and do what others did to achieve greatness. Little folding of hands, little slumber poverty takes over. Put laziness out of your life. There is great reward for legitimate labour. Any man that is diligent in what he does must for sure sit with kings and not ordinary men. Wake up! Determination pays! Passion pays! Go for them. Make them your motto. Pay the sacrifice, it worth it. Look at the glory ahead, that’s where you billions and millions lie.

Five Lessons I Learned from Aliko Dangote: The Richest Black Man in the World

In the course of studying the entrepreneurial lifestyle of this multi billionaire, I was able to grab five business lessons and principles that made him who he is today.

1. Determination and Passion

Aliko dangote the richest black man in the worldAliko Dangote is known for being a man of determination. Anything he dreams, he set out to achieve. Just as he says “Passion is what drives me forward. Passion is what makes me go to bed at 2am and wake up at 6am.” For you to build a successful business, you must passionate about building a business. Passion will help you endure the challenges of the entrepreneurial process; without passion, forget about building a business.

“It is not really work if you are having fun.” – Pierre Omidyar

2.The power of a strong mission

In course of understudying this role model of mine (Aliko Dangote), I came to discover that his overall success is all hinged on one factor; his mission. This mission is the fuel that drives his companies to dominate their market. Aliko Dangote was able to become a billionaire because he has a very strong mission statement and that mission is; “To provide the basic need of over 150 million Nigerians” I also learned from Aliko Dangote that the spirit of the entrepreneur is found in the mission statement and if this mission is strong, it will continue to drive the entrepreneur’s companies to success even after his death.

3. The power of a life purpose

Another lesson I picked from Aliko Dangote is the power of a life purpose.Aliko Dangote has a strong life purpose and I will quote exactly what he said in an interview he granted:

“After my death, I want to be remembered as Africa’s greatest industrialist.” – Dangote

This statement propelled me to also ask myself the question;

“What will I be remembered for after I exit this world?

Now answer to the question above is what a life purpose is. To me, your life purpose is simply what you will be remembered for after your death.

4. The power of strategy

While trading on commodities, Dangote developed a strategic plan that will set him apart from his competitors. The first strategy he implemented was to create a strong brand “Dangote Group;” a brand that signifies quality. The second was to develop a strong distribution network throughout the country, which in turn resulted in his ability to deliver his goods faster than his competitors. The third strategy was to sell his product nationwide at uniform price.

Aliko Dangote: The Richest Black Man in the World

In conclusion, despite the fact that Aliko Dangote emerged the richest black man in the world by 2008, it took him 30years to get there. For 30years, he was committed and persistent to the entrepreneurial process of building a formidable business. Along with this process come tough business challenges; if you stick to the process, you will hit the pot of gold.

“The Rich Dad Company was an overnight success but it took us many years to get there.” – Robert Kiyosaki

That brings me to the last lesson I learned from this billionaire industrialist and that lesson is this; Rome was not built in a day. There is nothing like overnight, success requires hard work and persistence. At this stage, I leave you with this quote:

“The height attained by great men is not by sudden flight. For while their companions lay asleep, these men were toiling in the night.” – Anonymous

Wealth Secret #6: Desire Money!!!

Do you know why the Rich are Richer and the poor getting poorer? The rich always have desire for more money while the poor always criticize and complain. Money gravitates to those that need it. Money is a spirit! Money has intelligence! Unbelievable someone will say! Well, that’s the truth. When you have a strong desire for it, it has no choice than to come to you. Do you know what the billionaires always think of? Money! Money!! Money!!! Always looking out for investment opportunities where they could make more money. I love the way the rich think. What about you? The poor will keep getting poorer until they change their mindset about money. When a poor man sees a rich man, do you know the first thing that comes to his mind? BLOOD MONEY! They see every wealthy man as ritualist, who amasses wealth through some diabolical means. Not every rich man amasses wealth through some whatever means. In fact 90% of the Billionaires you see acquire their wealth through due process and legitimate means. When you do what they do and think how and what they think, money has no option than to locate you.

Strong desire for money will definitely cause money to locate you. Do you remember the law of attraction? I believe you do. Activate the law and see what happens to you. When you criticize the rich, and complain so much about money, your estate can never change. Make out time to be in the congregation of the rich and hear what they say or discuss. You will be marvel to hear how passionate they are about having more money. Aren’t you surprise to see the rich go after every penny that falls out from the wallet? And they don’t spend extravagantly. Their investment must yield returns. Some will say they are stingy, not really. The billionaires are great philanthropist. The only lifestyle they know is money, money, money. Desire money and money will locate you.

Wealth Secret #5: Consistency.

One very good trait of every billionaires or millionaires is that they are very consistent in what they do. When they start a project, they see to its completion. They don’t do things half way and abandon it. Every good idea produces good result. Though the beginning at times might be rough but the end is what matters. They have come to understand that most good projects or ideas never look attractive at the beginning, with this understanding they stick with what they are doing. A lot of people could have gotten to the apex of their success ladder, but because of their inconsistency, they are still at the bottom. Inconsistency has kept a lot of people slave bound. Today they will come with one beautiful idea; tomorrow they jettison it to start up another. They easily get discourage or quit when the going gets tough. One thing they have forgotten is that, every idea or thought has it good and bad side, but it all depends on how you manage it and persevere. Winners don’t quit and quitters don’t win.

Every idea has its maturity period. It only takes consistency to get to that period. Billionaires don’t give up irrespective of the time it takes for an idea to come to maturity. Rather every mistake made during the incubating process is a lesson learnt. Thomas Edison once said every mistake made takes him a step further in discovery how better his ideas will work. Henry Ford said, the only way you can make things work, is to continue working (i.e consistent) on it. Well, I know by now a lot of you will be regretting for abandoning some of the projects they started earlier, the good news is that it’s never too late. Go back to the project; continue from where to stop until you achieve positive result. Don’t give up.

Wealth Secret #4: Discipline

You wanna be wealthy? You got to be discipline. Discipline is the bedrock of great achievers. You can have a good thought, wonderful idea but when you lack discipline you cannot achieve anything. It takes discipline to sustain whatever project you are into. It takes discipline to wake up by 4am and go to bed by 3am the next day. It takes discipline to be multitasking. It takes discipline to stick to a project or an idea that seems unproductive at the beginning. These are the characters that make a billionaire. Billionaires are not lazy people, they do not procrastinate, they believed what should be defer should be done now. Discipline is what keeps the mind going despite the obstacles. Discipline is what sustains the “money” (if wealth should be defined in monetary terms). When you lack discipline, no matter how much you have, you will squander it.

It takes discipline to have a saving culture. Imagine yourself how many times you’ve tried to save and you find it difficult to do. It takes discipline to do that. The articles I post on my blogs, facebook, twitter and other social media, it takes discipline to do that. Discipline is doing what you like to do when you don’t like to it. Don’t have the mindset of having the “money” first before getting the discipline to sustain it, it will not work! Discipline first. Let me tell you one truth about money; money is a slave to anyone that understands it. You are not meant to work for money rather money to work for you. It’s only the untrained that work for money. Do you know you can sit at the comfort of your home and money works for you? Of course!!! That’s why I’m sharing the secrets to you. Count yourself favoured!!! That sounds braggadocios? Please pardon my language. But the truth must be told. GREAT!!! The Bible says “a rich man speaks rough” while a poor makes entreaties. Be Disciplined!!!.
